Rudbeckia laciniata, commonly known as Cutleaf Coneflower, is a tall, herbaceous perennial that is notable for its bright yellow, daisy-like flowers. Each bloom features drooping petals and a prominent greenish-yellow central cone. The plant has deeply lobed, bright green leaves, giving it its "cutleaf" appearance. It forms a bushy, upright clump and is an excellent choice for naturalized areas, cottage gardens, or pollinator gardens.

Rudbeckia laciniata thrives in moist, well-drained soils and is particularly well-suited to damp areas like pond edges or rain gardens. It is drought-tolerant once established and attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies. The plant is deer-resistant and low-maintenance, requiring little care beyond occasional deadheading to prolong blooming and cutting back in late fall. Its tall stature makes it ideal for the back of borders or naturalistic plantings, and it pairs beautifully with other tall perennials like Joe Pye weed (Eutrochium), asters, or ornamental grasses.
