Plantago major 'Rosularis,' commonly known as Rosette Plantain, is an ornamental variety of the common plantain. It is unique for its densely packed, greenish, flower-like rosettes that form at the ends of its flower spikes, giving it a distinctive and decorative appearance. The foliage consists of broad, glossy, dark green leaves that grow in a low rosette form. This unusual plant is valued for its texture and structure in gardens.

Plantago major 'Rosularis' thrives in well-drained, moderately fertile soils and is highly adaptable to a range of conditions, including poor or compacted soils. It is drought-tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance, making it a great choice for low-maintenance or naturalistic gardens. This plant works well in rock gardens, borders, or as a ground cover and pairs beautifully with grasses and other textural plants for a striking display. Deadheading flower spikes can tidy its appearance, but the unique "roses" at the top of the spikes often add a touch of whimsy if left in place.
