Phlox paniculata 'Bright Eyes,' commonly known as Garden Phlox, is a fragrant herbaceous perennial admired for its upright growth, lance-shaped green leaves, and large terminal clusters of soft pink flowers marked with a vivid crimson-red eye. From mid to late summer and sometimes into early fall, it produces showy, nectar-rich blooms on stiff stems, bringing classic cottage-garden colour and perfume to borders and cutting gardens. Its long flowering season and strong pollinator appeal make it a standout in sunny perennial plantings.

Phlox paniculata 'Bright Eyes' grows best in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil enriched with organic matter, and performs best in full sun, though it will tolerate light partial shade. It benefits from regular watering during dry spells, summer mulch to keep the root zone cool, and good air circulation to help reduce powdery mildew; avoiding overhead watering also helps keep the foliage healthier. Its fragrant flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, and it is an excellent choice for perennial borders, pollinator gardens, and fresh-cut flower arrangements.
