Perovskia atriplicifolia, commonly known as Russian Sage, is a hardy, woody perennial or subshrub known for its long-lasting, lavender-blue flowers and finely divided, aromatic, silvery-gray foliage. Its tall, airy spires of flowers create a cloud-like effect, adding texture and movement to garden borders and landscapes. Russian Sage is a drought-tolerant, deer-resistant plant, ideal for xeriscaping or sunny perennial beds.

Perovskia atriplicifolia thrives in well-drained, sandy, or rocky soils and is highly drought-tolerant once established. It is a low-maintenance plant that attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Cutting the stems back to about 6–12 inches in late winter or early spring encourages fresh growth and prevents the plant from becoming leggy. Russian Sage pairs beautifully with ornamental grasses, echinacea, rudbeckia, and other sun-loving perennials for a dynamic and colourful garden display.
