Morina longifolia, also known as Whorlflower, is a striking and unusual perennial prized for its tiered whorls of tubular flowers and bold, spiny foliage. From a rosette of glossy, deeply lobed leaves rise tall, upright stems topped with multiple layers of pink, white, and pale lavender blooms that open sequentially from bottom to top. Its dramatic, architectural form makes it a standout in mixed borders and perennial gardens.

This tough, drought-tolerant plant thrives in well-drained, alkaline soils and is ideal for sunny rock gardens or cottage-style plantings. It attracts bees and butterflies and tolerates dry conditions once established. The foliage resembles thistles but is non-invasive, adding bold texture and contrast to garden compositions.
