Lythrum salicaria 'Happy Lights,' commonly known as Purple Loosestrife, is a vigorous and showy perennial with tall, upright spikes of small, star-shaped flowers. The blooms come in shades of pink, purple, and magenta, providing a vibrant and eye-catching display. Its narrow, lance-shaped green leaves create a neat, bushy habit. This cultivar is a more compact and ornamental form, making it ideal for borders, cottage gardens, or water features.
Lythrum salicaria 'Happy Lights' thrives in moist, well-drained soils and is particularly suited for damp areas such as along ponds, streams, or rain gardens. It attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies while being resistant to deer and rabbits. Deadheading spent flowers can encourage prolonged blooming and help control self-seeding. This low-maintenance perennial pairs well with ornamental grasses, irises, and other water-loving plants for a stunning, naturalistic garden display.
