Liatris spicata

Liatris spicata 'Spectra', commonly known as Dense Blazing Star or Gayfeather, is a herbaceous perennial celebrated for its tall, vibrant flower spikes and grass-like foliage.

'Spectra' features dense, bottlebrush-like spikes of bright purple flowers that bloom from the top down, atop sturdy, erect stems. The basal clump of narrow, green, grass-like leaves adds texture and visual interest to the garden.

'Spectra' is hardy in USDA Zones 3 through 9, making it suitable for a wide range of climates. It prefers moist, well-drained soils and is tolerant of drought once established.
