Iberis sempervirens 'Tahoe,' commonly known as Evergreen Candytuft, is a compact, low-growing perennial prized for its dense, dark green, evergreen foliage and profuse clusters of bright white flowers. The blooms create a carpet of white in early spring, providing a clean and elegant display. Its neat and spreading habit makes it ideal for rock gardens, borders, and as a ground cover.
Iberis sempervirens 'Tahoe' grows best in well-drained, moderately fertile soils and thrives in sandy or rocky conditions. It is drought-tolerant once established, making it a low-maintenance choice for sunny areas. To maintain its compact form and encourage reblooming, trim back the foliage lightly after flowering. This variety pairs beautifully with other low-growing perennials such as sedum, dianthus, or creeping phlox for a vibrant spring display. Its flowers attract bees and butterflies, while the evergreen foliage provides year-round structure and interest. Deer- and rabbit-resistant, 'Tahoe' is an excellent choice for rock gardens, edging, or as a ground cover in sunny landscapes.
