Hemerocallis 'Ruby Stella', commonly known as the Ruby Stella Daylily, is a compact, herbaceous perennial celebrated for its vibrant, wine-red blooms and repeat flowering habit. The slightly fragrant, trumpet-shaped flowers, approximately 3 inches (7 cm) in diameter, feature a small yellow throat and are held above arching, sword-like green foliage. This daylily is a sister variety to the well-known 'Stella de Oro', offering similar reliability with a richer bloom color.

This daylily is hardy in USDA Zones 3 through 9, making it suitable for a wide range of climates. It prefers average, moist but well-drained soils and is tolerant of heat and summer humidity. 'Ruby Stella' is also drought-tolerant once established and resistant to deer and rabbits, adding to its low-maintenance appeal. Its vibrant flowers attract butterflies and hummingbirds, enhancing the ecological value of your garden.

Sun Requirements:

Full sun to partial shade, with optimal flowering occurring in locations that receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. It is adaptable to various light conditions but performs best with ample sunlight.

Maximum Growth Height:

16 to 20 inches (40 to 50 cm) and a spread of 12 to 15 inches (30 to 37 cm), forming a neat, clump-forming habit suitable for borders, mass plantings, and containers.

Bloom Time:

June through September. 'Ruby Stella' is a reliable rebloomer, providing continuous color throughout the growing season without the need for deadheading.
