Hemerocallis 'Ruby Stella', commonly known as the Ruby Stella Daylily, is a compact, herbaceous perennial celebrated for its vibrant, wine-red blooms and repeat flowering habit. The slightly fragrant, trumpet-shaped flowers, approximately 3 inches (7 cm) in diameter, feature a small yellow throat and are held above arching, sword-like green foliage. This daylily is a sister variety to the well-known 'Stella de Oro', offering similar reliability with a richer bloom color.
This daylily is hardy in USDA Zones 3 through 9, making it suitable for a wide range of climates. It prefers average, moist but well-drained soils and is tolerant of heat and summer humidity. 'Ruby Stella' is also drought-tolerant once established and resistant to deer and rabbits, adding to its low-maintenance appeal. Its vibrant flowers attract butterflies and hummingbirds, enhancing the ecological value of your garden.
