Helenium hoopesii, commonly known as Orange Sneezeweed, is a striking perennial native to mountain meadows and alpine regions of North America. It features large, bright orange to golden-yellow, daisy-like flowers with prominent central cones. The flowers sit atop tall, sturdy stems and are complemented by narrow, lance-shaped, gray-green foliage. Its vibrant color and robust growth make it a standout in sunny borders, wildflower gardens, or naturalistic plantings.

Helenium hoopesii thrives in well-drained, moderately fertile soils and performs well in moist conditions, making it a good choice for areas near streams, ponds, or rain gardens. It is attractive to pollinators like bees and butterflies and is deer- and rabbit-resistant. Deadheading spent blooms can prolong the flowering period, while cutting back after blooming helps maintain a tidy appearance. This hardy perennial pairs well with ornamental grasses and other sun-loving perennials like echinacea and rudbeckia for a bold, colorful garden display.
