Geranium sanguineum ‘Vision Violet’, commonly known as Vision Violet Cranesbill, is a compact herbaceous perennial that produces masses of vivid violet-purple, saucer-shaped flowers with delicate veining. The flowers are held above low mounds of finely divided, deep green foliage that often turns attractive shades of red and bronze in fall. Blooming from late spring into summer, this plant adds bright color, texture, and reliable groundcover appeal to borders, rock gardens, edging, or sunny perennial beds.

Thrives in well-drained soil with dry to medium moisture. Avoid planting in heavy, waterlogged conditions. Requires minimal maintenance once established and shows good drought tolerance. Deadhead spent blooms or lightly shear after the first flush of flowers to encourage a tidier habit and possible rebloom. Pairs well with salvia, nepeta, coreopsis, and ornamental grasses for a colorful, low-growing garden display. Attracts bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. Generally avoided by deer and rabbits. Excellent for borders, edging, rock gardens, cottage-style landscapes, or mass plantings. Geranium sanguineum ‘Vision Violet’ is a dependable and colorful perennial that thrives in sunny gardens, adding long-lasting violet blooms and attractive foliage in a compact form. Its tidy habit, drought tolerance, and extended bloom period make it a valuable choice for low-maintenance perennial plantings.
