Gaillardia aristata 'Aurea Pura' is a cheerful and hardy perennial known for its bright golden-yellow daisy-like blooms. Each flower features a single row of flat petals encircling a small, golden center, creating a clean, classic look that lights up garden beds and borders. Its grey-green foliage forms a neat mound beneath the long-lasting flowers, which bloom freely throughout the summer.
This drought-tolerant and low-maintenance selection thrives in poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soils and is ideal for sunny borders, cottage gardens, and naturalized areas. It attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies, and deadheading spent blooms encourages even more flowering throughout the season. A tough performer, it’s well-suited to hot, dry conditions.
Sun Requirements:
Full Sun. Needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily to produce its best bloom display and maintain compact growth.
Maximum Growth Height:
18–24 inches (45–60 cm), offering a medium height ideal for middle-of-the-border plantings.
Bloom Month:
June to September. Blooms reliably from early summer through fall, providing vibrant, consistent color.
