Eupatorium cannabinum, commonly known as Hemp Agrimony, is a hardy perennial native to Europe and parts of Asia. It features clusters of fluffy, pale pink to purple flower heads that bloom atop tall, branching stems. The foliage is deeply divided and resembles hemp leaves, giving the plant its common name. This fast-growing, clump-forming perennial is ideal for damp meadows, wildlife gardens, and along water features.
Eupatorium cannabinum thrives in moist, well-drained soils and is particularly suited to areas near ponds or streams. It is highly attractive to pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects, making it a valuable addition to ecological gardens. The plant is deer-resistant and requires minimal maintenance, though it benefits from occasional division to maintain vigor. Its tall stature and airy flower clusters create a soft, naturalistic effect in mixed perennial plantings.
