Eryngium planum 'Blue Glitter,' commonly known as Flat Sea Holly, is a stunning perennial prized for its silvery-blue, spiky, globe-like flowers with intricate bracts. The blooms are held atop sturdy, branching stems that emerge from a basal rosette of lance-shaped, green leaves. This variety is particularly valued for its abundant blooms, long flowering period, and striking texture, making it a standout in mixed borders, rock gardens, or pollinator gardens.

Eryngium planum 'Blue Glitter' is drought-tolerant and thrives in sandy, rocky, or poor soils, making it ideal for xeriscaping or low-maintenance gardens. It is deer- and rabbit-resistant and highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. The unique flowers are also excellent for both fresh and dried floral arrangements. Minimal care is needed, though deadheading can encourage additional blooms. This versatile and resilient plant pairs well with ornamental grasses and other sun-loving perennials like rudbeckia, echinacea, and coreopsis.
