Digitalis purpurea 'Dwarf Mix' is a compact variety of the classic foxglove, featuring shorter flower spikes in a range of colors, including pink, white, lavender, and rose, often with charming speckled throats. The smaller stature makes it perfect for borders, containers, and smaller garden spaces. It forms a rosette of lance-shaped, green foliage at its base, providing a tidy and attractive appearance.
This biennial foxglove is easy to grow and thrives in well-drained, moderately fertile soil. While it completes its life cycle over two years, allowing it to set seed ensures future generations in the garden. It is deer-resistant and attracts bees, making it an eco-friendly addition to any landscape. Deadheading spent flowers can encourage a tidier appearance and potentially extend the blooming period.
Sun Requirements:
Full Sun to Partial Shade: Grows well in full sun in cooler climates but prefers partial shade in regions with intense heat.
Maximum Growth Height:
18–24 inches (45–60 cm), making it an excellent choice for smaller gardens or foreground plantings.
