Dicentra spectabilis, commonly known as Bleeding Heart, is a stunning perennial known for its arching stems adorned with heart-shaped flowers. These flowers typically appear in shades of pink with white inner petals, although cultivars with pure white flowers are also available. The plant features soft, fern-like foliage that adds a delicate texture to garden beds.
Bleeding Heart thrives in moist, well-drained soils rich in organic matter. After blooming, the foliage may die back in hotter climates, signaling dormancy for the season. It pairs well with other shade-loving perennials like ferns and hostas.

Maximum Growth Height:
24–36 inches (60–90 cm), with a similar spread.
