Delphinium 'King Arthur, part of the Pacific Giant Series, is a striking perennial renowned for its tall spires of deep blue, semi-double flowers. These blooms rise above mounds of deeply lobed, green foliage, creating a dramatic vertical accent in gardens.
This delphinium variety is hardy in USDA Zones 3 through 7, making it suitable for cooler climates. It prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soils and benefits from regular feeding during the growing season. The 'King Arthur' delphinium attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, enhancing the ecological value of your garden.
Sun Requirements:
Full sun exposure, thriving best in locations that receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. While it can tolerate partial shade, full sun ensures optimal flowering.
Maximum Growth Height:
4 to 6 feet (120 to 180 cm), with a spread of 2 to 3 feet (60 to 90 cm). Due to its height, staking may be necessary to support the flower spikes, especially in windy locations.
Bloom Time:
June through July. With proper care, it may produce a second flush of flowers later in the season.
