Campanula rotundifolia, commonly known as Harebell, is a graceful, clump-forming perennial featuring delicate, nodding, bell-shaped flowers in shades of light blue to violet. The flowers are borne on slender, wiry stems above basal rosettes of small, rounded leaves, with narrow, linear foliage along the stems. This airy and dainty plant is ideal for naturalistic plantings, rock gardens, and meadow gardens, adding a touch of charm and elegance.

Campanula rotundifolia grows best in well-drained, moderately fertile soils and thrives in sandy, rocky, or even poor soils, making it highly adaptable to various garden conditions. It requires minimal maintenance, with occasional deadheading to prolong blooming and cutting back in late fall or early spring to encourage healthy regrowth. This plant pairs beautifully with other delicate perennials like Dianthus, Aquilegia, and Sedum for a naturalized, cottage-style effect. Harebells are pollinator-friendly, attracting bees and butterflies, while their fine-textured foliage is generally unappealing to deer and rabbits. With its light, airy habit and adaptable nature, Harebell is a perfect choice for brightening borders, meadows, and rock gardens.
