Aquilegia ‘Mrs. Scott Elliott Mixed’, commonly known as Mrs Scott Elliott Mixed Columbine, is a graceful herbaceous perennial that produces elegant, spurred flowers in a soft mixture of colours, including pink, blue, purple, yellow, white, and rose. The nodding blooms are held on slender, upright stems above mounds of delicate, fern-like blue-green foliage, creating a light and airy appearance in the garden. Blooming in late spring to early summer, this plant adds charm, colour, and cottage-style elegance to borders, woodland gardens, cutting gardens, or mixed perennial beds.

Thrives in fertile, well-drained soil with consistent moisture. Avoid planting in heavy, waterlogged conditions or extremely dry sites. Requires minimal maintenance once established and performs best with some protection from hot afternoon sun. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage a tidier appearance and reduce unwanted self-seeding, or leave some seed heads to allow naturalizing. Pairs well with campanula, foxgloves, hardy geraniums, ferns, and hostas for a soft, layered garden display. Attracts bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial pollinators. Generally avoided by deer and rabbits. Excellent for cottage-style landscapes, shaded borders, woodland edges, cutting gardens, or naturalized plantings. Aquilegia ‘Mrs. Scott Elliott Mixed’ is a delicate and colorful perennial that thrives in sunny to partially shaded gardens, adding graceful spurred flowers and refined foliage. Its varied flower colors, airy habit, and early-season bloom make it a valuable choice for brightening spring and early summer perennial displays.
