Amsonia hubrichtii, commonly known as Threadleaf Bluestar, is a herbaceous perennial prized for its soft, feathery, thread-like foliage and its showy, light blue, star-shaped flowers. The flowers bloom in clusters at the tips of the stems in spring, creating a subtle but elegant display. In autumn, the fine-textured foliage turns a vibrant golden-yellow, adding stunning fall color to gardens. Its airy habit and multi-season interest make it a standout choice for borders, wildflower gardens, or mixed perennial beds.

Thrives in well-drained, moderately fertile soils but can tolerate poor soils and is drought-tolerant once established. Requires minimal maintenance. Deadheading is not necessary, and the plant can be cut back after flowering to maintain a tidy appearance. Pairs beautifully with other perennials like Echinacea, Rudbeckia, or ornamental grasses to create a dynamic garden display. Attracts bees and butterflies with its nectar-rich flowers. Unpalatable to deer and rabbits.
Drought-tolerant and long-lived, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance gardens. Amsonia hubrichtii is a versatile and easy-to-grow perennial that offers beauty in spring with its delicate flowers, texture in summer with its fine foliage, and bold golden hues in fall, making it a valuable addition to any garden.
