Commonly known as Majorette Double Hollyhock, is a compact, dwarf variety of hollyhock that brings vibrant color and charm to gardens. Unlike traditional hollyhocks, which can reach towering heights, the Majorette Double series is more manageable, making it suitable for smaller spaces and container gardening.
This variety produces large, fully double, carnation-like flowers in a range of colors, including red, pink, yellow, white, and dark mahogany. The blooms are arranged along sturdy, erect stems, creating a dense floral display that attracts hummingbirds, butterflies, and other pollinators. The foliage consists of lobed, deep green leaves that provide an attractive backdrop to the vibrant flowers.
These hollyhocks are hardy, making them versatile and adaptable to a wide range of climates. They prefer well-drained soil and moderate moisture. They are technically biennials but self sow so easily, plants will return year after year. Regular watering and AVOID overhead irrigation can help prevent common issues like rust.
