Alcea ficifolia-Hybr. 'Las Vegas' is a vigorous, long-lived hollyhock hybrid prized for its fig-leafed foliage and vibrant mix of single blooms. Flowers appear in a wide range of clear colors—including yellow, white, pink, red, and apricot—each with a delicate, papery texture and satiny sheen. The blooms rise in vertical succession along tall, sturdy stalks, adding a strong vertical element and cottage-garden charm.
Unlike traditional hollyhocks, this fig-leafed strain is more resistant to rust and better suited to perennial beds. It thrives in moderately fertile, well-drained soil and handles a range of conditions once established. A favorite of pollinators, 'Las Vegas' attracts bees and butterflies while bringing color and height to sunny borders or back-of-bed plantings.
Sun Requirements:
Full Sun. Requires at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily to support tall growth and vibrant flowering.
Maximum Growth Height:
60–72 inches (150–180 cm), making it an impressive vertical feature in perennial gardens.
